The First of Cayo

5 April 2014

On Saturday when I was having family lunch, I randomly brought up the subject of teacup dogs I saw my older brother posted on facebook. He asked if I was interested and can bring me around to the various places to check them out. So immediately after lunch, we head out to hunt.

Da Sao, went to search on the net and found this home breeder
selling their one month old (Birthday: 4 Apr 2014) Mini Maltese Cross Chihuahua = MalChi
My older brother suggested I get as his birthday gift to me since my birthday is round the corner.

First sight of him. Just a paw size at one mth old.
I was contemplating between him and another pure breed maltese.
What caught my heart was when I hold him close to me, he immediately tug his head in my arms! *AWW~*

That night, we bought him home immediately at about 11pm.
Hid away from my mum before she found out the next day with a shock
cus everyone was agreeable except her.

Half the width of a laundry basket.

First few photos of him.
So I named him "Cayo" I found on the net, pronounced as "Kay-yo".
It means Happiness. I found the name unique and not heard on a human before.

His many sleeping positions.

Year of the Horse, I suppose! haha..

He sneakily hop on to Shaynell's (3rd niece) comfortable chair.

His clean, discipline, hygienic father smelling him..
we have decided to bathe him after 2 wks of powder baths that dont seem to work.

Testing waters..First swimming lesson.

Da sao teaching me and bathing Cayo.

His dramatic poses while I blowdry him, haha

*Praying* it will end soon...

Feeling fresh and clean!

The clean father steaming the dirty floor.

Non-biological but heart bound Father and Son.
I saw a dog competition coming up on the 7th of June but I'll be away.
Told Cheney to sign up and spend some quality time with the "son" haha..

"Family" photo *Exclusively* on the blog cus Cheney said he is half naked.

When I drive, I LOVE bringing him out with me! My Companion.
We are super close, he sticks with me around in the house. Sometimes its difficult to bake.

Holding his hand while he sleeps.

Da sao's impromptu photoshoot of Cayo.
*I know, his fur is always in a mess. Cant wait to bring him for grooming after his 3rd vaccination.

CURRENT STATUS:
He is now a arm long at 4 months old.
Jie's Vet friend said dogs cant be caged for more than an hour. So I let him out all the time now.
And because he barked alot at night in the play room, he is now sleeping with me where I cuddle him every night. Check out my Instagram (sarahtayeh) for a very cute video of him on the first night in my room, he pretended to sleep so I wont carry him to his play room to sleep alone! Haha

He just had his 3rd and Final Vaccination (27 May 2014),
so I cant wait to officially bring him out for walks/runs soon and have already
signed him up for Puppy and Obedience Class with www.sunnychong.com.sg
*Kiasu! But its the better for both of us.
So I dont scold him unnecessarily but I get to reward him as much as I can!

I'm so glad to have Cayo, he's such a dear and companion to me.
Having him, taught me to be responsible and to love.
I am the one who clean, bathe and feed him together with Cheney and I am enjoying every bit of it!
Besides Cheney, I dont prefer anyone else to handle him (not even my helper).
Now, I get up every morning at 8.30am to feed him promptly which I dont even do it to myself because previously, I only wake up after 12pm every day!
And each time when I'm out, I cant wait to get back home to see him.
Honestly, everyone should experience having a dog, its such a joy! :)

Daddy and Glenn's Birthday!

26 March 2014

It is a coincident and a blessing that my father and younger brother's birthdays fall on consecutive days!
Daddy is 26 March and Younger brother is 27 March.

For my father, we did a simple family gathering for him.
Since he was working, my family and his colleagues surprised him at his workplace,
with a Durian cake bought by Cheney since I was working that night too.

Birthday boys

Everyone including customers had free glasses of Sparkling wine in celebration,
poured personally by the chef!

29 March 2014

My younger brother, Glenn, wanted something more fun and exciting!
So my sis, Glenn and I discussed over Skype to have a picnic at the beach on Sat with the family.

Morning, failed Oreo Creamcheese truffle Macadamia Choc Chip Cookies.
Sadly I don't have those magic baking fingers..
But throwing all the ingredients in, did tasted really good, glad everyone ate them all :)

Glenn requested for Tanjong Beach, insisted it was the most happening beach..
Though we thought the place looked more like East Coast Park and
we had to share the hut with a romantic young couple
whose boyfriend was playing guitar for the girlfriend before they left.

We couldnt take the cosy atmosphere any longer,
we packed everything up, drove to Siloso beach
and settled at Mambo Beach Club to have "Real Fun"-quoted by my older brother, haha

With the birthday boy!

Bought 4 buckets of Somersby Apple Cider and Coronas.
Before we came, Glenn wanted something alcoholic so mum bought a small bottle of Belvedere Vodka,
in the end, no one drank except her, she went high by the end of the night after mixing, haha.

Went to Sentosa Cove before the night ended.
